Kings XI Punjab defeat CSK by 6 wickets
Few weeks back it was in Mohali where Dhoni and his team India registered a historic win against Pakistan but on Friday the scenario changed completely as Kings XI Punjab defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets on Wednesday evening, riding on a scintillating century by P C Valthaty.
Chasing Chennai Super Kings? score of 188 for the loss of four wickets, Kings XI Punjab reached the winning score of 193 for the loss of four wickets in 19.1 overs in the high scoring India Premiere League (IPL) match.
PC Valthaty remained the star of the day for the home team as his unbeaten 120 runs innings helped the side to defeat current champions Dhoni and his men.
Dinesh Karthik (21*) remained in the crease along with Valthaty to ensure that their side registered a victory.
However, it was a good start for the Kings team with their first wicket falling at 61 runs in the form of Adam Gilchrist (19).
SE Marsh (12), Sunny Singh (20) and AM Nayar (0) filed to score handsomely for their team but made short and important contributions.
Earlier, batting first CSK scored 188 runs for the loss of four wickets with M Vijay (74) scoring the highest runs in the innings.
Badrinath (66*) played a brtilliant knock of 66 runs while it was skipper Dhoni whose quick fire innings of 43 from 20 deliveries that played a key role in dragging the CSK total to 188.
Dhoni hit 4 fours and two massive sixes in his innings.
