There is plenty of Cricket to get punters and bettors excited about in the coming weeks as the T20 Big Bash in Australia closes in on its finale, plus the 2nd test takes place between Sri Lanka and England. Finally in one day internationals Bangladesh face West Indies.
Starting with the T20 Big Bash in Australia, Sydney Sixers are the reigning champions and showing no signs of relinquishing their title as they lead the league as it stands this time around. From 11 matches played so far Sydney Sixers have won 8 matches and only losing 3. They are in great form winning three games in a row and four wins out of their last five matches.
They are currently 4/1 (5.0) +400 favourites to win the Big Bash this year and are on the right path to defend their title. Looking at the odds calculator, the current odds can be seen as a bit of value for Sydney Sixers to win the Big Bash as they are top of the league and bound for the knock out stages and clearly the best team in the competition, but will have to deliver in the knock out stages, like they have so far in the League.
Top players for Sydney Sixers include Josh Philippe who is scoring really well. His recent performance against Perth Scorchers was excellent scoring 67 runs from 38 balls. This type of form will likely lead the favourites to the final. Colin Munro scored a quick fire 34 runs and then Jason Roy hit 21 runs. In the bowling for Sydney Sixers Dan Christian and Jake Ball both took two wickets each to restrict Perth Scorchers to 163 runs for 7 wickets. Their individual figures were excellent and their form for Sydney Sixers has been strong throughout the tournament so far.
The recent match between Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers shows the difference in class at the minute between the sides as the 2nd favourites for the Big Bash T20 in Australia are currently 11/2 (6.5) + 550 to win the Big Bash, and they will need to improve to have any chance of winning the tournament this year.
Another team to consider to win the Big Bash is Hobart Hurricanes who are 7/1 (8.0) + 700 to deliver the title. They currently sit very closely matched with a number of teams having won 6 matches so far and losing 5 matches. Ben McDermott is the key batsman who can win Hobart any game and has been batting superbly well. Along with Dawid Malan, they can score well regularly and put up big scores and chase down big totals.
Not the desired result, but a returning captain, career-best figures & 2 x personal milestones still gave us something to smile about 😀

The ending of this year’s T20 Big Bash in Australia promises to be exhilarating and exciting as the top players from each team battle it out for the title.
Over in Sri Lanka, the 2nd test match takes place between the hosts and England. The first test match was pretty much one way traffic as Sri Lanka got off to a bad start as they were all out for only 135 runs. England’s Dom Bess delivered a five wicket haul for 30 runs as the visiting team dominated the opening few days. In reply to Sri Lankas total England were outstanding in their batting as captain Joe Root led from the front scoring 228 runs as England were all out for 421 runs.
Sri Lanka did better in their 2nd innings as they scored 359 runs which gives them encouragement for the 2nd test match. Angelo Mathews scored 71 runs and Lahiru Thirimanne hit 111 runs which proves Sri Lanka can compete with England. Dom Bess continued to haunt Sri Lanka taking another 3 wickets and then an 8 wicket haul in total.
This left England a simple task of scoring 76 to win the 1st test match which they did with ease and take a 1-0 lead in the series. The next test match has England as Evens (2.0) to win and 7/4 (2.75) for the hosts to level the series. It promises to be a lot closer than the first test match as the hosts will not want to lose this match and the series.
