Kolkata : President Pratibha Devisingh Patil is coming to Kolkata Tuesday evening. She will attend three programmes here on Wednesday.
The President will lay the foundation stone of the proposed Joka to BBD Bag via Majherhat Metro Rail Line Wednesday morning.
The President will also attend the 75th year celebration of All India Marwari Federation in the afternoon and 37th National Management Convention ?Managing India: Opportunities and Challenges? organized by the All India Management Association in the evening.
The proposed Metro Rail line from Joka to BBD Bag via Majherhat has a total route length of 16.72 km. The estimated project cost is Rs. 2619.02 crores. There will be 13 stations.
After completion of this project, Metro commuters will have the facility to interchange at the Majherhat Station with the EMU services of Sealdah-Budge Budge section of Eastern Railway, at Park Street with existing North-South Metro corridor, at Dharamtalla with the Esplanade bus terminal and at BBD Bag with the proposed East-West Metro Corridor.
