Pune Warriors beat Kings XI Punjab by five wickets
Kings XI Punjab suffered a shocking defeat in their home ground on Sunday night as Pune Warriors beat them by five wickets in a league level encounter of the popular Indian Premier League (IPL).
Chasing Kings XI Punjab?s score of 119 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their quota of 20 overs Pune reached the winning run of 120 runs by losing only five wickets in just 17.1 overs.
Skipper Yuvraj Singh remained the top scorer for Pune with his 35 runs.
MK Pandey (28) and RV Uthappa (22) helped the side in reaching the winning score.
SJ Srivastava remained the highest wicket taker for Kings as he picked up two wickets in the match.
Earlier, the Pune bowlers bowled extremely well to restrict the home team at 119 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
SE Marsh remained the highest run scorer of the side with his 32 runs before he got out to P. Kumar.
KD Karthik scored 30 with his bat to give Kings XI some kind of total to fight in the match.
The rest of the batsmen failed with their willow in this league level match of IPL.
B Kumar, W. Parnell, R. Sharma and MR Marsh picked up two wickets each in the match.
With this victory Pune added some momentum to their campaign with their chances of qualifying already in doubt.
