RR vs KXIP : Shane Warne has much to worry

Two former Australian team mates will cross swords when Adam Gilchirst led Kings XI Punjab host Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Thursday.

The two cricketers know each others mind too well and for a long time have been a part of the all-conquering Australian team that dominated the game for over a decade.

For them winning is a habit, and they will ensure that their teams also get on with it.

They have led by example and motivated the younger and little-known players to and the results in the last three years are all for everybody to see. Warne led the Royals to title triumph in 2008 while Gilchrist did it with Deccan Chargers.

Warne is still in charge with the Royals while Gilchrist have moved on in his life with Kings XI.

Gilchrist and his men are well-rested after Kings XI Punjab’s two successive chases while Warne has a few reasons to be worried about.

After two wins at the start, Rajasthan Royals lost twice in the space of three days to Kolkata Knight Riders.

The abandoned match against host Royal Challengers Bangalore did not help the confidence of the team but surely brought in an unscheduled, but much-needed, rest.
