Rs 2.3 cr insurance for each Team India cricketers
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has struck a deal with an insurance company for Rs 2.3 crore each of the Team India cricketers for personal accident policy during the mega World Cup championship.
The cricket board also made a premium deal with the Oriental Insurance Company (OIC) to the tune of Rs 130 crore to protect financial losses in case of a match being affected by bad weather.?
OIC’s deputy general manager Reena Bhatnagar said the BCCI has purchased the group personal accident policy with $500,000 or Rs 2.3 crore for each player for the period between Feb 10-April 9.?
The policy to cover in case of death or total disability, permanent partial disability and temporary total disability to a player or a support staff member.

The policy will also be invoked if a player or support staff member becomes a victim or sustains injury due a terror attack.?
The insurance policy is provided under the International Cricket Council’s norms.?
