Rs.6.7 crore seized from Hyderabad autorickshaw

Hyderabad : An autorickshaw driver was arrested Wednesday after Rs.6.7 crore were seized from his vehicle in the Andhra Pradesh capital, police said.

The cash was seized during checking of vehicles in front of director general of police’s office.

The money, in Rs.1,000 currency notes, was stashed in four bags in the autorickshaw. The cash was handed over to the Income Tax department.

The notes were withdrawn from a nationalised bank but their owner was not known, police said.
