Salman Khan tweets sorry again on his 26/11 remarks

Mumbai : Bollywood actor Salman Khan apologized once again on Twitter for his 26/11 remarks that kicked up a political storm.

In his latest tweet on his account beingsalmankhan, the actor, whose new release Dabangg is a superhit, posted: “I think I messed up, so sorry guys, sorry bolne mein koi sharam nahi [No shame in saying sorry].”

He earlier tweeted that he would record all his interviews next time onwards to avoid controversies.

Under pressure from the Shiv Sena and other political parties, he had earlier publicly apologized for his comment on a Pakistani channel where he said he did not believe Pakistan government was behind the Mumbai attack and that the coverage was played up because of attack on the elite people.

In a statement, Khan said: ? I gave the interview to the Pakistani channel three weeks ago. My statement was twisted and presented out of context by vested interest on the occasion of Eid and important Hindu festival of Ganesh.?

He said: ?I do not defend terrorism, and never did so. Terrorists have no nationality or religion. I condemn terrorism. I have not hurt people?s sentiments. However, if anyone is hurt, I apologize,? he added.

Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan also criticized Salman for his “elite target” comment.

?Apart from the Taj and Oberoi hotels, the attacks also took place at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and other spots where the not so rich were also killed,? Chavan said.

Reports said Salman’s father Salim Khan had also persuaded his son to apologize.
