Riding on a brilliant knock of 107 runs by AB de Villiers, South Africa defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in Feroz Shah Kotla stadium at New Delhi on Thursday night.
Chasing 223 for victory, South Africa reached the winning score in just 42.5 overs with 7 wickets in hand.
South Africa lost their first wicket in the form of Hasim Amla (14) with just 15 runs at the scoreboard.
Soon he was followed by Kallis as he contributed only 4 runs with his willow.
Since then Greme Smith and AB de Villiers revolved the top their own control.
After Smith got out at a personal score 45, Duminy (42*) followed him and gave good support to De Villiers on the other side.
Both of them played sensibly to make sure that South Africa start their campaign in a winning note.
De Villiers remained not out at 107 runs along with Duminy.
The West Indies bowlers looked quite ordinary with none of them succeeding in giving their opponents a tough challenge.
Earlier, batting first West Indies got all out at 222 runs.
Darren Bravo remained the top of the West Indies batsmen with 73 runs.
Steyn remained the pick of the South African bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets by giving only 24 runs.
