Pallekele (Sri Lanka) : West Indies knocked out New Zealand from the World Twenty20 tournament beating them via Super Over in a crucial Super Eights match at the Pallekele International Stadium here Monday.
In reply to West Indies’ 139 all out in 19.3 overs, New Zealand also made 139 for seven in 20 overs to tie the match.
In the Super Over, West Indies achieved the 18-run target — set by the Kiwis — with a ball to spare.
Tim Southee and Doug Bracewell took three wickets apiece for the Black Caps while Chris Gayle top scored with 30 off 14 balls for the Windies who folded up in 19.3 overs.
