New Delhi : With just six days left, Delhi Police on Tuesday took complete control of the venues for the Oct 3-14 Commonwealth Games.
?All venues have been handed over to the Delhi Police. We have a perfectly fool-proof security,? Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal said after attending a meeting with Home Minister P Chidambaram on security issues.
Dawal said more than one-lakh security personnel will be guarding all the venues.
?Security situation is totally under control. We have gone into details…everything is looked after,? he said.
Dawal stated that the traffic situation is quiet fine and they are not reserving the lanes for 24 hours. The hours reserved are from 8 am to 8 pm.
The Games Village has been transformed into a fortress with over 1,000 security personnel, helped by a plethora of safety gadgets and armed commandos, guarding the premises on a 24-hour basis.
