Today’s Match : Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan Chargers
Looking for their first win on home turf, Delhi Daredevils will have no home advantage when their pace-packed side take on Deccan chargers on the slow track at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Tuesday.
Daredevils have a power packed fast bowling side spearheaded by tall South African Morne Morkel, right arm seamers Ashok Dinda, Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron and left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan.
Today’s Team Squad:
Deccan Chargers Team:
S Sohal, S Dhawan, KC Sangakkara, CL White, B Chipli, DT Christian, DB Ravi Teja, DW Steyn, A Mishra, PP Ojha, Harmeet Singh,
Delhi Daredevils Team:
V Sehwag, DA Warner, AJ Finch, Y Nagar, NV Ojha, Y Venugopal Rao, IK Pathan, JR Hopes, M Morkel, Shahbaz Nadeem, AB Dinda,
On a slow home turf, the pace attack will have a tough time against the strong batting line-up of Deccan Chargers as Daredevils return to Ferozeshah Kotla for their second home game.
Daredevils coach Greg said: “We are still looking at the option of keeping a little bit of grass on the tracks. It might not happen tomorrow but we’re not ruling out the possibility for future. It will obviously be helpful for the side if the tracks have a bit more pace and bounce in them.”
For Deccan Chargers the challenge will be to get rid of Virender Sehwag and David Warner early on in the innings. The Chargers have a good batting order and will be taking their chances against the weak attack of the Daredevils.
Meanwhile in Bangalore, Royal Challengers will host Rajasthan Royals in another IPL match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Royal Challengers are lying at the bottom of the group and it is high time for skipper Daniel Vettori to inspire his side against the Shane Warne-led Rajasthan Royals.
Royal Challengers have a strong batting line-up and at home the stage is set for them to come good. The team’s bowling troubles, however, appear less easily resolved.
Rajasthan Royals, meanwhile, has endured a similar set of poor results. After two wins, Shane Warne’s men have succumbed to Kolkata Knight Riders twice in the space of three days.
The home side will be wary of Warne’s compatriots Shane Watson and Shaun Tait, with their potential for damage with bat and ball respectively no secret.
