24th May Match : Today?s Match (Qualifier 1) : Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (CSK vs RCB)
It will be an interesting battle on cards as both defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will try to return to winning ways when they face each other in the third IPL match in Chennai on Saturday.
Match schedule to begin at 4 PM Local time.
After winning a thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening encounter of IPL by two runs, Super Kings were blown away by little known Kings XI opener Paul Valthaty in Mohali on Wednesday.
Royal Challengers after starting their campaign with convincing victory over Kochi Tuskers Kerala have somewhat lost the plot with back-to-back defeats against Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers respectively. Both teams will be desperate to get back on winning track.
For Super Kings, bowling will be a concern for the defending champions. The return of Doug Bollinger will be big relief for skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The addition of Michael Hussey who has joined the team after a successful ODI series in Bangladesh will be a bog boost for the ‘Men in Yellow’.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have a lot to sort out in both the departments. Against Mumbai Indians, there batsmen failed to up the ante even in the slog overs while against Chargers, their bowlers were taken to the cleaners by Bharath Chipli. Skipper Daniel Vettori will have to think seriously about their batting combination.
Meanwhile, in another match Deccan Chargers will host Kings XI in Hyderabad.
The spotlight will again be on Valthaty. For Kings XI skipper Adam Gilchrist the match will also invoke some feelings after all he lead the team in the last two seasons and led the Chargers to IPL triumph in 2009.
