Expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti has confirmed that she will be returning to the Hindu nationalist political group after a being out of it for five years, television reports said on Sunday.
She affirmed BJP leader L K Advani?s blog post on Saturday indicating her return to the party, news channel Times Now said.
Advani had written that since Nitin Gadkari had become BJP president he had focused on bringing back people like Jaswant Singh and Uma Bharti back to the party.
?Uma ji spoke to me, and on my advice, agreed that she would concentrate hereafter on strengthening the party unit in Uttar Pradesh, which as I have mentioned earlier had become greatly enfeebled,? he had written on some point of time.
?She said she would like to contest also from Uttar Pradesh. But she has sought some time from the Party President before plunging headlong into the fray,? he added.
The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister had went on to form the Bharatiya Janshakti Party (BJSP) after being expelled following her outburst against BJP leader L K Advani, in full glare of television cameras.
She has now said that she was first approached by Gadkari and will make a formal statement after January 14 next year.
