BJP pre-condition on retirement age of HC judges

It refers to BJP posing pre-condition to support government?s move to bring retirement age of High Court judges at 65 years to be at par with that of Supreme Court judges. Even though suggestion of BJP not to give post-retirement postings is basically correct, yet any good move on which there is no opinion-difference, must not be resisted for want of some another reform. Putting retirement-age of high Court judges at par with of Supreme Court judges apart from reducing vacancies at post of High Court judges, will put an auto-check on lobbying by high Court judges to reach to the Supreme court to avail maximum 65 years age-limit to serve in judiciary. System will also make full utilization of services of distinguished High Court judges till age of 65 years though at High Court level in case their elevation to Supreme Court is stalled due to some peculiar reasons as happened in case of now-retired Chief Justice of Delhi AP Shah.

Also because all Supreme Court judges are at par with Chief Justice of India, Chief Justice of India should be posted by rotation for one year each amongst the senior-most judges to allow more and more judges to exhibit their performance as head of country?s judiciary. Idea is doing well at renowned Faculty of Management Studies (Delhi University) where Deans of faculty are posted by rotation amongst senior-most professors for one year each.
