Harsher decisions needed: Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Tuesday that harsher decisions needed to be taken against those who have been found guilty in involving themselves in spot-fixing cases.

?Harsher decisions needed to be taken,? said Dhoni in an exclusive interview to NDTV, on the question relating to the recent spot-fixing incidents that has rocked the entire cricketing world.

? Scandal has brought disrepute to all,? Dhoni added.

He also remarked that as the spot-fixing scandal has brought ?disrepute? to the game so people in recent time will start associating it with the entire fraternity.

?People start associating it with whole fraternity,? Indian skipper pointed.

The former T-20 World Cup champion skipper also said that the in cases of low-scoring games people start doubting that the game was fixed.

?When you work hard, it feels bad if people say it was fixed,? he added.

Earlier, new incident related to the match fixing scandal emerged as Pakistan?s Test batsman Yasir Hameed was captured clearly in a sting operation video by UK?s The News of the World saying ?almost every match? of Pakistan is fixed, but the player denied it brazenly on Sunday.

In a sting operation conducted by The News of the World, Hameed said that he had refused bribes worth 150,000 pounds from a corrupt bookmaker to throw matches and lost his own place in the squad that saw his career damaged as a result.

Hameed?s revelations come after the British tabloid promised last week that it would come with more news on the spot-fixing scandal involving three Pakistani players, captain Salman Butt, fast bowlers Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Aamer.

Hameed also said that the Sydney Test in Australia earlier this year was rigged for 1.8 million pounds.
