Now reservation in promotion : Vote bank politics
It refers to Union Cabinet giving nod to the bill now providing reservation even in promotion in government-jobs. It is nothing but vote-bank politics because the provisions of the Bill are likely to be challenged in Courts. Otherwise also, country will lack merit in government-service, and create more trouble by such demands made by other categories like has already started even before presentation of the Bill in Rajya Sabha when demand for additional quota for OBC is made for such a quota for reservation in promotion.
Complete policy of ‘Reservation’ is in itself a big failure when it could not homogeneously mix people of reserved-categories in the society in stipulated 15 years initially fixed by constitution-makers. In present era, policy of reservation is itself responsible for alienating persons of reserved categories from normal society by making them identified separately.
If reservation is to be continued indefinitely, all reserved categories like SC, ST or OBC should be merged into one single category with an annual review of progress or benefits made by different casts/tribes by virtue of Reservation. Communities with maximum postings/admissions may be deleted from reserved categories by taking these as creamy layers, leaving opportunities for reservation for really deserving backward categories. Also since backwardness in reserved categories is due to their generally having large families, benefits of reservations may be reserved for persons/families with upto two children only.
India has made progressive moves by introducing reservations in promotions. Can we look forward to more pathbreaking steps like cancellation of coal block allocations and reallocation based on OBC,SC-ST,women promoted companies / headed organisations. May be this should be extended to spectrum etc. India should show this world that there can exist a nation where OBC,SC-ST,women can enjoy benefits even when all over the world nations treat them all equally.Keep it up India. In your seventies you shall show this world that there can be life moving backwards.
The reservation of sc and st categories is not right because after getting jobs all categories people are same so how can the SC and st categories people are benefited the promotion and the general categories people are not promoted, the general categories peoples are also lot of problems why should they not getting the promotion it is not right the govt are take right decision in the promotion ground
