VVIP security causing death

It refers to yet other death in Delhi allegedly due to ambulance carrying a heart-patient having been stuck up in the closed route for movement of Prime Minister for Congress party session at Burari (Delhi). With CWG-lanes finding a big success, such emergency-lanes should now be planned for all Delhi roads where alternate roads are not there. Such emergency-lanes exist in many foreign countries.

However VVIP-movements should be minimised to the extent possible on lines of US where US President is hardly seen at public-ceremonies. Video-conferencing can be best used for attendance of VVIPs at such functions. Prime Minister should also issue directives to restrict red/blue lights on car-tops and sirens only for very limited personalities like President, Prime Minister and Vice President in the centre, and for Chief Ministers and Governors in states. These show of status should immediately be withdrawn from cars of rest others including ministers and MPs/MLAs these firstly because these rather cause added security-risk for these protected ones because of easy identity and secondly these are simply required for show-of-status rather than protection. Blowing of sirens with car-top lights, cause unnecessary disturbance in normal-moving traffic.
