Maruti Suzuki sold 99,225 cars in Dec, 2010

Maruti Suzuki India has sold a record 99,225 units in Dec, a surge of 17.01 per cent, compared to 84,804 units of the same month in 2009.

The sales just fell short of 225 units from the magic figure of 100,000 in a month, India’s largest car maker said in a statement.

Of the 99,225 units sold, the domestic market’s share stood at 89,469 units, about 26.01 per cent up from 71,000 units in Dec 2009.

The shipment of cars in Dec last was 9,756 units from 13,804 units a year ago, which fell shot by 29.32 per cent, the statement added.

The sale of model M800 also reduced by 30.15 per cent to 1,798 units from 2,574 units in Dec 2009.
