TCS post 31.1 pct increase in profit

IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a 31.1 percent increase in net profit at Rs 2,623 crore for the fourth quarter that ended on Mar 31, 2011.

TCS has marked a revenue of Rs 37,325 crore for fiscal year 2011, up by 24.3 percent at year-on-year basis and a Rs 10,157 crore figure for the fourth quarter.

TCS has recorded a volume growth at 29.7 percent on yearly basis and a 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter.

The company also added 38,185 professionals in the year with 11,700 employees added in the fourth quarter, it said in a statement.
