Volkswagen Polo Facelift on the Way: Exclusive
Volkswagen India is gearing up to give its only hatch, the Polo a mid-life face-lift. The Polo is doing reasonably well in the Indian market but the need of a face-lift was apparent. The face-lift will include some minor exterior and interior changes and there will be no changes under the hood.
On the exteriors, Volkswagen Polo is expected to get new stylish alloy wheels to add more appeal to its sporty character. It is also expected to get black inserts on its headlamps to make the car more elegant. The upgraded version of the Polo is expected to have more detailed changes at interiors than the exteriors. The revamped interiors will include a new music system head-unit with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, while high-end variants could also get steering-mounted audio controls. These features are available in most of the other B+ segment cars.
There are also rumors around that Volkswagen is working on petrol AT model of the Polo, although there has no confirmation been received so far about it.
Volkswagen India has managed to sell 3498 units of the Polo in the month of July, 2012 which is a very decent number, but still it’s far lesser than its closest competitor Hyundai i20. Hyundai sold 7775 units in July 2012, so to match up the Hyundai i20; Volkswagen is giving this face-lift to the Polo. Keep checking this space for further updates on the same.
