3rd year student of Delhi University Arzoo Singh murdered by boy friend Naveen Khatri

New Delhi : The body of 21-year-old Arzoo Singh of Delhi University was found in a semi-burnt condition from her friend’s house in Model Town area of north Delhi.

The police said that the body had gone missing a few days back, was on Sunday recovered from a shaft of her friend’s residence.

The friend identified as Naveen Khatri has been arrested.

Police said Khatri, who was the victim’s neighbour, was arrested after several people were questioned when the woman went missing.

The officer said that the victim left her college on February 2 and was missing since then, he also said that naveen tried to burn it once to erase the evidence, but again failed in his attempt,

The final year student Arzoo singh was reportedly under depression and involved in a shaky relationship with her boyfriend Navin and they wanted to marry.

But Khatri’s family members were aginst this relationship and they fixed his marriage with some other woman, a police officer said.

Initial investigation suggests that the victim was strangulated by Khatri, who dumped her body in a shaft at his residence.

Khatri reportedly wanted to dump the victim’s body at some other place but could not succeed in his attempt.

“We are also trying to ascertain the role of other family members of the accused as they were not ready to accept their son’s relationship with the victim. They had raised objections to the relationship and wanted Khatri to marry another woman,” the officer said.
