Mob beats up driver for raping minor in Delhi

New Delhi : An angry mob on Saturday beat up the cab driver, who allegedly raped a minor girl and sexually abused her brothers in the capital, when he was brought at the Prasad Nagar police station.

The driver, Lalit, was arrested Friday night, and had been allegedly raping a minor schoolgirl and sexually abusing her two younger brothers for the past two years.

Investigating officials said Lalit has confessed to the crime and has also revealed names of his four co-accused. All the co-accused are minors and are studying in the same school.

These minor boys were part of the gangrape and also made an MMS of the victims.

The driver was later produced in the Tees Hazari court later on Saturday.

Angry locals stormed into the Prasad Nagar Police station and ransacked the police station.

The shocking incident came to light on Friday, when the 12-year-old schoolgirl, studying in class VII, narrated the incident to her widowed mother. Her two minor brothers study in Class III and V.

The girl said that she was repeatedly raped under the influence of drug and the accused also sodomized her younger brothers.

She said that the rapist also made an MMS and threatened to kill her if she told the incident to anyone.

The mother also did not muster courage to approach the police. The incident came to light when one of her tenants came to know about it and informed a local politician, who is his friend.
