BJP rejoices twin court rulings on Friday

New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday took on the Congress armed with two court verdicts that went in its favour in two states and one that went against the ruling Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in New Delhi

While the Karnataka government upheld the disqualification of 11 rebel BJP MLAs by the Speaker under anti-defection law, in Gujarat former Home Minister and Modi’s right hand man Amit Shah got a bail in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case from the High Court.

“We always believed that the case against Shah was unfairly investigated. It was a clear case of no evidence. We are happy that the High Court [Gujarat] accepted the bail investigation,” BJP leader Tarun Vijay said.

“We believe that truth alone triumph in Gujarat and Karnataka,” he said.

Vijay said the “revengeful politics of CBI stays exposed” with the court rulings.

“The High Court has upheld the anti-defection law in letter and spirit in Karnataka,” he said.

“It is a happy Diwali for all those who believe in law and the spirit of Constitution,” he said.

The BJP also took a dig at Sonia Gandhi on the 2G scam issue on which the Supreme Court on Friday slammed the CBI for tardy progress of probe.

He said Sonia Gandhi is the proxy Prime Minister of India and she should not keep silent on the issue of A Raja (Telecom Minister in question).

The BJP also took on Rahul Gandhi for ignoring the Kashmir issue where the sovereignty of India is challenged while he (Rahul) is “enacting the drama of second class train travel” to know the problems of common people.
