Cheating accused sent to five days’ police custody
An man allegedly involved in a Rs.50 crore cheating case was remanded to five days’ police custody by a Delhi court Thursday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Munish Markan sent Suresh Kumar Sharma to five days’ police custody to facilitate investigation.
According to complainant A.D. Kaushal, the accused along with other co-accused and his son Parvesh Sharma cheated him and misappropriated Rs.50 crore from him over a land deal.
The complainant was engaged in procuring contiguous land in Gurgaon and other areas near the capital for various land buying companies. The accused approached him and offered to help him buy some land.
Kaushal’s counsel Manoj Taneja said: “The complainant transferred a huge amount to the accused’s account but instead of using the money for purchasing land the accused transferred it to their other accounts.”
