Delhi Tourism sets up kiosks at two Airport Metro stations
Delhi Tourism has set up kiosks at the New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations on the high-speed Airport Metro Metro Express Line (AMEL), led by Reliance Infrastructure, to enable tourists and others to book sightseeing tickets.
Apart from arranging sightseeing in and around Delhi, the kiosks will also provide detailed tourist information for Airport Metro commuters and tourists, officials said Thursday.
“Now commuters, tourists and back-packers will not have to face trouble from unauthorised touts as they can get all information related to various tourist destinations at the Reliance Metro stations itself,” said a spokesperson of Reliance Infrastructure, which operates the line.
There will also be a dedicated bus service for travellers to tourist destinations and various heritage sites of Delhi.
Tourists can book their ‘Dilli Darshan’ trips at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium Metro stations, which already provide check-in facilities for international and domestic fliers.
“Not just the national capital but tourists who wish to travel out of Delhi, to places like Agra, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Manali can also plan their tour and book their tickets at the Delhi tourism’s inter-state travel service available at Reliance Metro stations,” the spokesperson said.
The 23 km Airport Metro, with six stations, connects New Delhi railway station with the Indira Gandhi International airport in 18 minutes. It has a ridership of 20,000 commuters.
