French woman, Marie Robert Vanerik, found dead in Delhi ashram

New Delhi : A 53-year-old French woman was found dead inside her accommodation in an ashram here in the city, police said Tuesday.

Marie Robert Vanerik, who arrived in India July 17, was found dead Monday morning at Aurobindo Ashram in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar when the caretaker of the ashram noticed a stench emanating from her room locked from inside.

Police broke open the lock and found her decomposed body lying in the bathroom, said a police officer.

Police claim it was a natural death as no injury marks were found on her body.

She was associated with Aurobindo Ashram for the last 25 years and was a frequent visitor.
