Parliament adjourned over JPC uproar into the 2G scam
New Delhi : Parliament was adjourned till Tuesday as demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the 2G scam rocked both the Houses on Monday.
Uproarious scenes stalled the houses- Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha- as they opened.
The government and the Opposition stuck to the guns on a JPC probe into the 2G scam even as senior Congress Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday mooted on having a Supreme Court-monitored CBI inquiry into the issue.
Mukherjee, Congress leader of the House in Lok Sabha, called on NDA Working-Chairperson L K Advani and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj to discuss the continuing deadlock in Parliament since Nov 10 over Opposition demand for a JPC probe.
Refusing to budge a inch the BJP leaders continued with their demand of having an JPC probe into the issue.
The Union Finance Minister also spoke to Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Sitaram Yechury but the Left party had reportedly left it on the government.
