Wife kills husband, surrenders in Delhi

New Delhi  :  In a bizarre incident, a 33-year-old woman killed her husband here Tuesday morning and then surrendered in a police station, police said.

The incident took place in east Delhi’s Johri Pur area.

Police said Uttam Devi killed 43-year-old Dhanpal Singh by smashing his head against a wall. She then surrendered in a police station. She was the victim’s second wife.

She has been arrested and Singh’s body has been sent for a post-mortem.

The woman claimed that her husband had an illicit relationship with his niece. However, the victim’s kin alleged that the woman had an illicit relationship.

Singh is survived by his wife, their two children, a 17-year-old niece and his mother.

“All the family members and relatives of the woman and her husband are being questioned to know the exact reason behind the murder,??? said the officer.
