IIM-Raipur India’s 10th management institute

Raipur : India has now the 10th Indian Institute of Management (IIM-R) with the opening of Raipur chapter in presence of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, academicians and management gurus.

Classes will be held on the campus of Government Engineering College until IIM-R gets its own set up, IIM-R Mentor Director N Ravichandran, who is also director of IIM-Indore, said on Monday after inauguration of the institute.

The Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh had achieved 11.49 per cent growth in state gross domestic product only because of proper management of its various public welfare schemes.

He said the new building of the institute, to come up in the New Raipur region, would reflect the culture and heritage of Chhattisgarh.

To begin with, IIM Raipur, being mentored by IIM Indore, has 70 seats for the two-year post-graduate programme.

?The faculty members will be outsourced from various IIMs, including IIM Indore, although we have received 800 applications seeking jobs at IIM-R,? informed Ravichandran.
