Amitabh Bachchan donates cash award to Subhash Tomar’s family

Mumbai  : Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan donated a cash award of 2,50,000 rupees to the family of Subhash Chand Tomar, the Delhi Police constable who succumbed to injuries sustained in violence during anti-rape protests in the national capital.

Bachchan had received the cash award from the South Indian Education Society (SIES) in Mumbai.

Tomar was survived by his wife and three children. Bachchan also expressed his solidarity with the victim of the recent Delhi gang-rape, and wished the protesters luck in their endeavour.

Tomar, 42, was reportedly beaten up by the violent mob and was later found lying with severe injuries at one of the protest sites in New Delhi on December 23.
