Today is Rangeela girl Urmila Matondkar’s 39th Birthday! Born in a simple Marathi family, little Urmila always dreamed big. She began her career as a child artist in 1981 with the film ‘Kalyug’.
In 1983, she played Pinky; daughter of Naseeruddin Shah in Shekhar Kapur’s critically acclaimed film ‘Masoom’.
Her performance in Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘Rangeela (1995) established her as a reliable actress in Bollywood. Urmila followed her success story with other RGV films like ‘Satya’ (1998), Kaun (1999), ‘Jungle’ (2000), ‘Pyar Tune Kya Kiya’ (2001), ‘Pinjar’ (2003), and ‘Ek Hasina Thi’ (2004).
Her performances in’Satya’, ‘Kaun’ and ‘Bhooth ‘earned her not only commercial success but also critical acclaim.
