Malala Yousafzai’s documentary film got nomination in British Academy Film Awards.

London: A documentary film on the life of Pakistani activist for female education named as “He Named Me Malala??? got selected in the nomination of Documentary category of the upcoming 69th British Academy Film Awards,

Malala Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel Prize laureate,

Directed by American filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, the film opens a facet of Malala’s life on the big screen and tells an inspiring story of how a teenage girl, who was shot in the head on her way to school in Pakistan in 2012 by Taliban, is undeterred by the threats and continues her fight for girls’ right to education.

The documentary is nominated for an award alongside filmmaker Asif Kapadia’s “Amy??? — that depicts the life and death of singer Amy Winehouse, Matthew Heineman’s “Cartel Land???, Marlon Stevan Riley’s “Listen to Me??? and Jennifer Peedom’s “Sherpa???, read a statement on the official site of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

The 69th British Academy Film Awards will be held on February 14 at the Royal Opera House here.

“He Named Me Malala??? is also expected to get nominated in the same category at the upcoming 88th Academy Awards, whose final nominations will be announced on January 14.
