Zee announces ‘DID Doubles’ as Dance India Dance 4th season

Zee TV has geared up to unleash the fourth season of its popular dance based reality show ‘Dance India Dance’ starring 31 December.

The fourth chapter of the reality show called ‘DID Doubles’ will start with a twist, as participants will come in pairs to compete with others, evaluating their chemistry, co- ordination, choreography and timing.

Two new mentors, Marzi Pestonji and Rajeev Surti will join the graceful Geeta Kapoor in the panel of judges this season.

Speaking to the media in Kolkata, a Zee Network spokesperson said, “This concept will specially showcase same-sex combinations as a lot of male jodis (pairs) will perform this time. We also have two new judges and both of them are immensely talented. And of course, the icing will be Mithun Chakraborty’s presence as the ‘Grand- Master’.”

On the event, ‘DID Doubles’ latest mentor, Marzi Pestonji said: “I am a bit nervous, but really excited and also very much prepared. I know what I am capable of and will deliver my best.”

“Kolkata have a lot of potential, many of the jodis are from Kolkata. Sourabh and Vivek are one of them,” he said when asked what made Zee pick the city for announcing the competition.

Pestonji said the main criteria for judging contestants will solely be their performances.

“The full show is based on contestants. How good they perform, that matters most. Nothing else matters. And being a dance teacher I know how to teach and I am here to teach the kids, that’s all matters to me,” he said.

Bengal boy Sourabh Bangani, a participant of the show, said: “This is a complete different concept from the past seasons. Nothing will work this time with single effort, a great co-ordination and chemistry should persist. This is what my and Vivek’s understanding is all about”.

“As we are now in the top 50, will certainly work much harder to give our best shot”, said his partner Vivek Jaiswal.

Both the aspiring dancers, Sourabh and Vivek, are from Malapara and Shyambazar areas of the city. These two childhood friends are dancing in pairs since four years.
