He has contributed to the development and structuring of Ralegan Siddhi, a village in Parner taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, India.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan—the third-highest civilian award—by the government of India in 1992 for his efforts in establishing Ralegan Siddhi as a model village

A majority of leaders are in politics for money and not for serving the people of India. So, how can these leaders support all clauses of JAN LOKPAL, which is capable to stop a maximum number of corruption and Ghotala?
If JAN LOKPAL comes in action as it is, all these corrupt leaders will be forced to quit politics and Indian democracy will beocme stronger.
How can we accept LALU PRASAD YADAV as a member of standing committee to decide upon anti-corruption LOKPAL BILL, as every body knows Sri LALU as a well known corrupt person for CHARA GHOTALA.
