Attack in Pakistan military base worrisome: AK Antony
India’s defence minister AK Antony on Wednesday said the recent attack on a naval military base of Pakistan is a cause of concern for India.
“The development in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, is a matter of serious concern,” he said here, adding that India is closely monitoring the situation there round the clock.
“We are taking precautions. We don’t want to overreact and we are closely monitoring the situation.
“I can assure all our three services are taking precautions. They are ready 24×7,” said Antony at a function of Indian Navy.
He said terrorists are also trying to infiltrate in India along the border.
A 16-hour siege in Pakistan’s heavily guarded naval airbase in Karachi ended Monday with the death of 10 security personnel while four Taliban terrorists on the brazen suicidal mission to avenge the killing of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden were killed.
