Baba Ramdev using ‘loose language’, says Congress

New Delhi  :  Corporate Affairs Minister M. Veerappa Moily Tuesday accused Baba Ramdev of using “loose language” for the people in authority as the Congress said the government has a definite course of action to tackle the problem of black money.

The manner in which he (Ramdev) uses a very loose language, that demonstrates the fact that he has taken some of these things as a license to speak against, abuse people in the authority,” Moily told reporters here. The minister said Ramdev should respect constitutional posts.

“He should also understand that parliament is established by the Constitution of India and the constitution is created by sacrifices of freedom fighters. He does not understand that language…forget about the parliamentary language. Let him limit himself as a decent person. This is what is required of him,” Moily said.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said the government has a definite course of action to tackle the problem of black money.

“I don’t know why anybody is saying what they are saying. We have been speaking in parliament. We have a course of action. We have been telling from time to time that finance minister has issued a few days ago – a very detailed statement on all the steps which government has taken in this regard. Earlier, the finance minister, the Rashtrapati, issued a white paper,” (on the issue) she said.

Soni said many steps have been enumerated in the media from time to time. “So can’t say the government is not speaking about the steps it is taking,” the minister said.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said the government has been spelling out its steps to tackle black money for the past few years.

He said it would be wrong to accuse the government of inaction.

Ramdev ended his five-day fast against corruption and black money Tuesday and accused the Congress and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of shielding the corrupt. Their movement would continue, he said.
