Bansal set to present Rail Budget, may hike fares
Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal is set to present his maiden Railway Budget in the Parliament on Tuesday.
A section of media reported that Bansal is likely to further increase the passengers’ fare in upcoming budget, as the government has allowed the state-run companies to enhance diesel price to recover their losses.
Meanwhile in Patna, state chief minister Nitish Kumar hoped that the railway budget would be in favour of people’s expectations.
Alongwith expectations that several new trains and more passenger-friendly measures would be taken, rail passengers across India demanded improved and superior infrastructural facilities and raised concern for security issues ahead of the Railway Budget 2013-14.
