Haryana Police to seek transit remand of Tunda in 1996 blast case

Sonepat : Police in Sonepat district of Haryana are set to seek transit remand of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant, Abdul Karim Tunda, in connection with serial bomb blasts of 1996.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police had nabbed Tunda (70), an expert on explosives for the Pakistani militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from the Indo-Nepal border on Friday (August 16). Tunda was one of India’s 20 most wanted militants.

Meanwhile, the victims of the 1996 Sonepat blasts recalled the horrific incident of the serial blasts. According to police dossier, Tunda is involved in some of the most deadly militant attacks in the past decades and a mastermind of over 40 bomb blasts across the country.
