Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s in stable condition, but on ventilator

Godman Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who is suffering from lung and chest congestion, is stable though he is still on ventilator support, said the latest medical bulletin on Wednesday.

Admitted at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Sai Baba?s condition showed some signs of improvement, though it was still stated to be critical. He continues to be on assisted ventilation and on kidney support through CRRT, which is a process of slow dialysis.

“Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who has entered his 10th day of treatment at this hospital, is in a stable state of health as he was yesterday. There are signs of improvement in the functioning of his kidneys although he is still on dialysis,” said a medical bulletin issued by AN Safaya, Director of the hospital.

“He continues to be on ventilator for assisting his respiration. Blood pressure and all other parameters are satisfactory. The panel of doctors treating him is keeping a constant watch over his health condition,” it said.

He had been hospitalized since March 28.

Devotees from across the nation have arrived in the town to pray for their adored leader.

Security deployment has been increased by the local administration to ensure that law and order is maintained.

85-year-old Sathya Sai Baba is one of the most popular spiritual gurus across the world.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Tuesday wished for speedy recovery of the Godman.

?My heart aches on hearing that Sai Baba is seriously ill and I very sincerely wish him a speedy recovery. He should be back to normal, responding to the wishes of thousands of his admirers,? the CM said, in a message.

He added, ?His liberal and timely contribution towards better drinking water supply to people of Chennai is really memorable.?
