Sunanda gave up equity to bail out friend
In what seems to be an obvious effort to bail out her friend Shashi Tharoor, Sunanda Pushkar has relinquished her Rs70-crore ‘sweat equity’ in the Rendezvous Sports World consortium.
In a statement made through her lawyer Ashish Mehta, Pushkar distanced herself from the Kochi team, saying: “I voluntarily offer to return to Rendezvous the sweat equity they had offered me. I do not intend to seek compensation for the efforts I have made so far for them. As the mother of a half-Malayali son, I wish Kerala cricket well and hope this team succeeds handsomely in IPL-4 and in the years to come.”
