Terror threat to World Cup venues in India

Terror outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba and Al Qaida are planning to attack the ongoing World Cup Cricket venues in India, according media reports on Wednesday quoting intelligence sources.

According to TV reports, a group of over ten has sneaked into India to carry out the operation.

The prime target could be Mumbai, which was attacked earlier in Nov 2008 in one of the most brazen terror strikes by Pakistan based terrorists who came by sea and killed 166 people across the city, including in two luxury sea-facing hotels.

Reports said Ministry of Home Affairs has issued warning against possible attacks and Mumbai is high on the list of attackers.

The World Cup matches scheduled in Gujarat and Maharashtra might be targets.
