South Korea’s nursing home fire kills 10

Seoul, Nov 12 (IBNS) At least ten people were killed and some 17 wounded in a fire at a nursing home in South Korea’s southern city of Pohang on Friday, police and firefighters said.

They said a fire at dawn swept through the two-storied nursing home for the elderly people killing 10 and injuring 17 others.

The casualties- all women in their 70s and 80s .

About 200 firefighters were deployed to douse the flames, which were brought under control in about 40 minutes.

The injured were taken to hospitals.

Investigation was on to ascertain the cause of fire.
