Suicide attack in Moscow airport kills 35

The death toll from the suicide bomb attack at Moscow?s Domodedovo International Airport rose to 35 on Monday evening while over 160 people have been reported to be injured.

A Russian news agency said that two suicide bombers blew up in the international arrivals zone at 4:32 pm local time. The blast is said to have been caused by a 7 kg TNT bomb and police are looking for three male suspects.

Security has been beefed up across Moscow in other airports and transport hubs while Russian President Dmitry Medvedev promised that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

Cancelling his planned departure for the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, Medvedev has called an emergency meeting with top officials.

U.S. President Barack Obama condemned Monday?s attack, expressing condolences to the Russian people, who have suffered greatly from terrorism, he said.

The White House has promised any assistance that the Russians may request.
