Four killed in Pakistan blast

Islamabad : At least four people were killed and over 12 injured in a bomb blast near the Baba Farid shrine at Pakpattan in Pakistan’s Punjab province on Monday morning.

Media reports said that at least 100 people were present at the shrine to offer the morning prayer when the blast took place.

The bomb blast took place at eastern gates of the shrine, reports said.

The bomb was placed in a motorcycle that was parked near the gate of the shrine, reports said.

The rescue team and bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot, and the area has been cordoned off.

The shrine has been shut down by the security officials after the blast.

The injured people have been taken to the District Headquarters hospitals in Pakpattan, media reports said.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the Monday blast.
