International archer, Lenin Cherukuri, dies in road mishap

Lenin Cherukuri, an international archer and coach of the recently concluded Commonwealth Games medalists, died on a road accident in Andhra Pradesh in the wee hours of Sunday, TV reports said.

Reports said the 27-year-old was returning with Games silver medallist Ritul Chatterjee when the accident occurred at Jupdi village when he lost control of the vehicle, a Scorpio, he was driving.

He was returning to hometown Vijaywada after a felicitation of award winners Ritul Chatterjee and Jignas Chittibomma along with him by Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Rosaiah in Hyderabad.
