We have put three defeats behind, says Brendon McCullum

With the series already lost, New Zealand?s maverick batsman Brendon McCullum feels that the fourth One-day International will be a chance for the visitors to get their act together.

?It?s a new match. A new opportunity. From our point of view, the team has talked about the need to put the defeat behind. It?s bitterly disappointing but there?s nothing we can do about it now,? he said.

McCullum, who missed the first two matches feel that the Kiwis will have to be aggressive.

?We have to play positive, aggressive cricket and put India under pressure to reverse the result,? said McCullum.

McCullum feels the New Zealand team is high on morale but pointed out Kiwis would have to bat and bowl better.

?Everyone is upbeat in terms of the performances. The spirit within the group is incredible. It?s displayed in our fielding. You can see the energy, the passion. It shows how much NZ is trying to win games despite struggling in terms of confidence with the bat and ball,? he said,” he said.

McCullum said he is doubtful for the fourth ODI as he is recovering from his back injury.

?My back is still sore. I guess playing in the 3rd Test probably didn?t help in terms of recovery but it was a career-defining opportunity to play in that Test. The back is getting better. At this point it?s wait and see,? he said.

?It?s not often that NZ gets to come here to India on a full tour and play against some of the best players in the world. We?ve enjoyed it and we?re hoping to gain some success in the next two games so that we can go home with fond memories,? said McCullum.
