We will provide good governance: LK Advani

Motihari, Bihar : As the campaign for the Oct-Nov Bihar assembly polls peaked ahead of the first phase on Oct 21, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a partner of the ruling Janata Dal-Unitted (JD-U)-led alliance, promised good governance in the state.

On Tuesday, BJP stalwart L K Advani hit the campaign trail at Motihari where at a rally he said the effort of his party would be to provide good governance, something that eluded Indians since the attainment of Independence in 1947.

“We got freedom, but could not build a state governed well. But I promise that BJP will try its best to offer a good governance wherever possible- be it at centre of at the state, wherever we get an opportunity to rule,” he said.

He also praised chief minister Nitish Kumar, saying that he was the most capable in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule at the centre among all its constituents.

Earlier, lambasting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for ‘misleading’ the people by blaming the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government in Bihar for not utilising the Central funds properly, state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar invited the PM to have a public debate on the issue.

Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh kept their Bihar campaign focused on attacking Nitish Kumar on utilization of central funds.

Bihar goes to a six-phased Assembly Polls in Oct-Nov beginning with the first phase on Oct 21.

The term of the Bihar Assembly is to end on Nov 27.
