MiG29K faces technical hitch, no causalities

Panaji : The recently inducted MiG29K Russian-made fighter plane faced technical hitch at INS Hansa base in Vasco-da-Gama but there were no causalities, Indian Navy officials said here on Monday.

Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area Sudhir Pillai said that due to technical problems the pilot had to apply emergency brakes on the airstrip that caused tyre burst.

?There was a hydraulic failure of the aircraft, as such, the pilot applied emergency brakes. We will not commission any inquiry as we are convinced that it was a technical problem,? he said.

MiG29K is an all-weather carrier based multirole fighter aircraft, is recently introduced in the Indian Navy and based at INS Hansa.
