One shot dead in North Kashmir

A resident of northern Kashmir was shot dead on Friday evening by an unknown gunman in Hajan town of the Baramulla district.

The man, identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar, was rushed to a hospital in Srinagar but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and a manhunt has been launched in and around Hajan.

Sources say that the wife of the victim ran and lost for the municipality elections last year.
